Umzinyathi Self-Catering Farmhouse is located in the 5000-acres Fugitives’ Drift property just 5-10 minutes drive from Fugitives’ Drift Lodge.

Set at the top of the reserve it has a wonderful view of Isandlwana. Like its other 2 sister properties in this Natural Heritage Site, the self-catering house is full of history. It was built in the 1920’s and

was the home of George Buntting, who was an expert on the Anglo-Zulu War. After major renovations in 2015 the farmhouse has three en-suite bedrooms, a sitting room with a fireplace, a dining room, and a kitchen. Although the accommodation is self-catering, guests may choose to have some or all meals at the Lodge or Guest House at an additional cost. Should guests decide to take this accommodation, they will need to travel to and from the Lodge or the Guest House for meals. Activities can also be joined at the main lodge at an additional cost and these include Battlefields tours; guided walks through Buffalo Gorge, fly fishing, hiking, tours to Mangeni Falls and to the Rorke’s Drift Arts and Crafts Centre.
