Start this journey with an overnight stop in Windhoek to relax and unwind before the start of your safari the following morning. Then travel to Sossusvlei situated in the Namib Naukluft Park, the heart of an age-old desert, where the dunes are taller, and the stars are brighter than you have ever imagined. Among these vast ancient vistas, a thousand tiny miracles play out each day, as fascinating desert animals and plants make dozens of unique adaptations that allow them to thrive in this arid environment. Proceed to Damaraland and explore Twyfelfontein extensive rock-art galleries as well as the mountainous scenery of the Gross Spitzkoppe and Brandberg. Round off this trip with a visit to Etosha National Park, Namibia’s prime wildlife sanctuary, celebrated for sustaining an abundance of wildlife not withstanding its scorched surroundings.

Day 1 Arrival Windhoek
On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to Olive Grove Guest House located in a quiet, peaceful suburb – just 5 minutes drive from the city centre. Settle in your room and unwind. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the hotel’s amenities or explore the city.

Day 2 – 3 Windhoek to Sossusvlei
After a leisurely breakfast you will be picked up transferred to Windhoek International Airport to connect with your scheduled light aircraft for a superb scenic flight to Sossusvlei. This passes right over the escarpment and down to the Namib Desert – you can really appreciate the vast beauty of Namibia’s landscapes from the air. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by the lodge’s team and driven to Little Kulula, a luxurious desert retreat situated in the private 27 000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve. During your two night stay here you’ll be treated to guided excursions within the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve and into the Namib-Naukluft Park to see the impressive dunes at Sossusvlei as well as the meandering Sesriem Canyon. Return each evening to your delightful desert oasis at Little Kulala.

Day 4 – 5 Damaraland
Today is your last day in the Namib Naukluft and we suggest an early rise for a morning hot Air balloon, the best way to experience the heart of the Namib Desert. Watch the sunrise over this stunning landscape from the silence of a hot air balloon. The views of the Namib Desert are exceptional, life-long dream for many people. On landing (wherever the wind has taken you) there is a champagne breakfast.
Return to the lodge and seat for a leisurely breakfast before being transferred to the
to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft to Swakopmund. Enjoy a spectacular scenic flight over the expansive Namib Desert and then along the coast to Swakopmund where you will land to re-fuel. Then board back in the aircraft and head to the Skeleton Coast and inland to reach Damaraland. This area is renowned for its dramatic landscapes and free-roaming wildlife, including the elusive desert-adapted elephant that traverse the ephemeral river valleys during the dry season. You may be lucky enough to see these gentle giants on guided 4 x 4 nature drives, and you’ll discover a myriad of flora and fauna on guided walks. Accommodation is at Damaraland Camp, the perfect location from which to explore the area.

Day 6 – 7 Etosha National Park
This morning your scheduled flight takes you North East to Namibia’s Central Highlands before coming into land on the southern edge of Etosha National Park. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be welcome by the camp’s team and transferred to Ongava Tented Camp a small luxury camp with a homely atmosphere and a productive waterhole so that guests can enjoy the game from their doorstep. The Camp is in the Ongava Private Game Reserve on the southern border of Etosha National Park.
Activities around Ongava Game Reserve are offered throughout the day. There are morning and afternoon 4×4 game drives in Ongava. You can also join a night game drive. The nature walks are very popular at Ongava and the perfect opportunity to explore and learn. During these walks, you can track white rhino with a qualified guide.
What makes Ongava Tented Camp unique is that it offers an exclusive experience within beautiful and natural surroundings. Because only a few guests can stay here at a time, it ensures a personal experience. You want to stay away from bustling crowds that disturb the wildlife. This is very much a Hemingway-style safari. Particularly exciting activities at Ongava are nature walks, rhino tracking and night game drives. You can also enjoy drives at the Etosha National Park or inside Ongava Game Reserve.
There’s plenty of wildlife to be seen on guided game drives both in the private game reserve and in Etosha. Expect to see amongst others giraffe, lion, zebra, hyena, leopard, warthog, jackal, elephant, rhino, cheetah and a variety of antelope species. The open savannah and vast Etosha Pan also make striking photographs. You’ll stay two nights within the Ongava Reserve beside a frequented waterhole at Ongava Tented Camp
Day 8 Goodbye
After 2 magnificent days of wildlife sightings in Ongava Private Game Reserve and Etosha National Park, it is time to bid farewell to the bush as you are being transferred back to the airstrip for your scheduled flight aircraft to Hosea Kutako International Airport for onward own arrangement.
