Day 1 Arrival Victoria Falls

You will be met on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport and driven to Victoria Falls Hotel to unwind and get over the long overnight flight. Set in lush tropical gardens with lily ponds, palm trees and semi-tropical shrubs, Victoria Falls Hotel provides the tranquillity and seclusion that many guests seek. The famous Victoria Falls are just a ten-minute walk away using the hotel’s private pathway, and “the smoke that thunders” or “Mosi-O-Tunya” in the local dialect, is clearly audible and visible from this luxurious landmark.  We did not add any activities for this day, leaving you the freedom to decide how much/little you want to explore as this is your honeymoon. Perhaps an additional day to partake in some of the activities on offer in Victoria Falls. Your stay includes Breakfast and Dinner in “La Grande Dame restaurant””

Day 2-5 Livingstone – Lower Zambezi National Park

After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to Livingstone Airport for your direct flight to Zambezi Grande (direct flight To/From Zambezi Grande are on Tuesdays & Saturdays only and from 1st May – 31st October). On arrival at the Royal airstrip, you will be welcomed by the lodge’s team for a 10 minutes road transfer to the lodge.

Zambezi Grande offers visitors an unforgettable personal retreat, with all the sumptuous indulgences a discerning guest would appreciate from the comfort of an opulent, 5-star sanctuary in the heart of Africa. This upmarket lodge invites you to explore the hidden treasures of an untamed, unfenced and unspoilt nature. Enjoy relaxation and raw African beauty at its finest while drinking a cup of tea or coffee on your veranda watching the sun rises on the opposite side of the river – on the Zimbabwean side – and shines right onto the patios of your room at Zambezi Grande. It reflects on the water and there is no way that the beauty of it could ever be captured on camera.

Zambezi Grande is situated on a prime sector of the Zambezi River front, near the Lower Zambezi National Park which rich and diverse habitat is home to a spectacular array of Zambia wildlife. Abundant water, food and shelter give rise to one of Africa’s healthiest elephant populations, vast herds of buffalo, prides of lion, leopards, hyenas, jackals, hippos, crocodile, zebra, various small carnivores and omnivores ….

The lodge offers a wide variety of land and water-based safari activities and guests travelling to Zambezi Grande will be treated to 4 x 4 Game Drives, River Safaris, Sundowner cruises, Tiger fishing,

as well as Cultural village visit to get an insight in the lifestyle of the Lower Zambezi tribes.

Bird lovers are also rewarded during water activities as the riverbanks are also home to many bird species and flocks of birds skim the waterline, the wildlife viewing complimenting your fishing excursions. In between the daily activities spoil yourself with relaxing and nurturing body therapy designed to alleviate stress and sooth tired or tight muscles, leaving you feeling revitalised and refreshed.

Day 6 – 9 Lower Zambezi – South Luangwa National Park

After a last morning activity followed by breakfast you will be transferred back to Royal Airstrip to connect with your flight to Mfuwe airport, the gateway to the South Luangwa National Park. Enjoy spectacular views from the air as you fly into the South Luangwa Valley.

On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, you will be welcomed and driven to Lion Camp. Seat and enjoy a three-hour game drive transfer to the camp, a hidden gem located in the northernmost reaches of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park; one of the best places in Africa for an authentic wilderness safari. Being away from the park gates, guests enjoy very private and exclusive game viewing away from the crowd and where guests are at-one with nature and its inhabitants.

The camp overlooks a lagoon area, providing a year-round supply of water for both plains game and elephant, which are often seen grazing during the day. The camp itself is unfenced and elephant, hippo and antelope usually seen wandering through the camp.

Game viewing activities from camp include both game drives and walking safaris. Guests can also enjoy night drives, which give the option of viewing nocturnal creatures by spotlight and the chance to search for the elusive leopard under the cover of darkness.

Day 10 – 13 South Luangwa National Park – Lilongwe – Lake Malawi National Park

An early morning game drive transfer will deliver you to Mfuwe International Airport in time for your flight to Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. On arrival at the airport you will be met by the Pumulani Lodge team for a three-hour scenic road transfer to Monkey Bay ( there is also an option of light aircraft)  where you’ll be staying at Pumulani, an exclusive beach lodge on the beautiful protected Southern shores of Lake Malawi considered as the perfect place to unwind after a wildlife safari. Your 4-night stay in a private designed villa overlooking the lake includes all your meals, drinks, non-motorised water sports, bike tours and village excursions.
