There is no better way to celebrate your love for each other than witnessing a sunset in a remote, and wild Selous Game Reserve before being whisked away to Zanzibar and Dar es salaam secluded white sandy beaches. This itinerary is meant for guests who want to spend more time on the beach but also explore wildlife. It gives you the opportunity to visit 2 iconic Tanzanian beaches at the start and end of the journey and in between experience spectacular game viewing in Southern Tanzania. Kick off this special journey by visiting the Northeast Coast of Zanzibar and spend 4 nights at the Sultan Sands Island Resort a relaxing haven to recharge your batteries… Here you can swim, snorkel or lounge for hours, while shoals of fish graze over nearby coral gardens and pods of dolphins make frequent visits out of the water. Then stop for 1 night in Stone town and immerse yourself in a mixture of Arabic, African, Indian and European cultures. From here procced to Selous Game reserve known as the largest game reserve in Africa and home to amongst other the largest populations of buffalo in Africa and experience a thrilling game viewing. The last leg of this trip will take you to Ras Kutani Beach Resort a “bare foot luxury paradise” only 15-minute charter flight south of Dar es Salaam. Possibly considered as one of the best beach hideaways in the world: It is quiet, secluded and “away from it all”, but with fabulous rooms, great food and friendly unpretentious service – a blast!

Day 1 – 5 Sultan Sands Island Resort Zanzibar

You will be met on arrival at Zanzibar Airport and transferred to Sultan Sands Island Resort situated on the wide, sparkling beaches of Kiwengwa on the East Coast of Zanzibar Island. Sultan Sands is a resort with a unique character: an inspired blend of Swahili and Arab architecture and decor creates a relaxed ambience, while first-class amenities and facilities ensure complete comfort. Time to recharge your batteries … The clear and crystal water of the beach offers many perfect spots for snorkelling and diving. Relax on the white sandy beach, surrounded by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 6 Full Day Stone Town, Zanzibar

After breakfast you will be transferred to Kisiwa House in Stone Town, a luxury Boutique hotel superbly located on a quiet street in the heart of Zanzibar historical centre within easy walking distance of famous landmarks, museums, antique shops and restaurants

Experience a mesmerising mix of influences from Africa, Arabia, India and Europe, explore the local spice markets, taste local dishes and walk the cobbled streets of the capital’s old quarter Stone Town, now a World Heritage Site buzzing with colourful back-street markets.

Day 7 – 10 Zanzibar to Selous Game Reserve

This morning you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport after a leisurely breakfast to connect with your flight to Dar es Salaam International Airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the domestic terminal to connect with your flight to Selous Game Reserve, an untouched African Wilderness. Selous Serena Camp

On arrival at Stieglers airstrip you will be picked up by your guide in an open 4 x 4 vehicle for your transfer to Selous Serena Camp.

However, your safari starts as soon as you step in the wildlife territory meaning at the airstrip. You can see giraffes, zebra, impala, and other animals as well as a plethora of birds. You will check in at the camp and then, depending on your arrival time you will head out for a short safari ride.

With only 12 Tents, Selous Serena Camp is an intimate camp with rooms boasting great bushy Rufiji River views. With your cocktail at hand, enjoy game viewing from the small pool just below the camp bar as residents Hippos, Impala and Baboons come for a to drink.

Your days will be spend exploring Selous game reserve wilderness on full day 4 x 4 game drives. Expect to see herds of Elephants, hippos, pride of lions, even the elusive leopard! giraffes zebra, water buffalo, wildebeest, water buck, warthogs, lilac breasted roller, crocodiles, baboons, hyena, rock hyrax, king fisher, fish eagle, osprey, and more.

Besides the main safaris, enjoy boating safari along the Rufiji River to view a plethora of hippos and crocodiles. However, bird lovers won’t be disappointed as over 440 species recorded making Selous is an excellent birding destination. You will also undertake walking safaris. Enjoy scenic sundowners and amazing scenery.

Day 11 – 14 Selous Game Reserve to Ras Kutani Beach Resort, South of Dar es Salaam

After the excitement of seeing lions, elephants and all the different wild animals on game drives and wilderness walks, and nights of hearing the cacophony of nocturnal life of the bush, there’s nothing better than being welcomed into this tranquil retreat on this quiet stretch of coast. The soft lapping of the waves and the twittering of birds make for the best ambient sounds to relax with while exploring the surrounds or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of beach life.

Today after the last morning game drive or walking safari followed by a scrumptious breakfast you will transferred back to Stieglers airstrip to connect with your flight to Dar es salaam domestic. On arrival you will be met and assisted on your flight to Ras Kutani Beach Resort airstrip. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Ras Kutani Beach Resort.

Set on a beautiful beach in a quiet area south of Dar es Salaam on the Tanzanian mainland, Ras Kutani is a barefoot luxury hideaway at which to relax after your safari adventures. For those who prefer a more active stay there are facilities for sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling and fishing. Adjacent to a freshwater lagoon, the resort is on a four-kilometre crescent of white sand and gentle surf, cooled by tropical trade winds. Kick off your shoes, take off your watch and gear down to the slow pace of the beach resort: swim, snorkel, laze in the sunshine or set sail on a sunset dhow cruise. Day 16 Goodbye

This morning your spectacular honeymoon comes to an end as you will be transferred back after breakfast to Ras Kutani airstrip in time for your flight to Dar es salaam to connect with your international flights home.
