Day 1 Arrive Cape Town

On arrival in Cape Town you will be met by our Representative and transferred to La Splendida Hotel where you will be spending the next 4 nights on bed and breakfast basis in a Side View Room. The rest of your day is at leisure to unwind and get ready for your first adventure the following day.

Cape Town’s modern chic La Splendida Hotel is on the Mouille Point promenade which is also known as the Platinum Mile. This three-star La Splendida hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, lies only minutes away from beaches, restaurants, bars, entertainment options and attractions including the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

The newly refurbished hotel not only does it overlook Robben Island and Atlantic Seaboard, but it also showcases mountain and sea views.

The hotel provides a concierge, a free shuttle service and a bicycle hire service. Staff are available 24/7 and can help with booking tours and tickets.

After a day of discovering the area, guests can relax in the comfort of their air-conditioned rooms. They feature wireless internet access, a mini bar and a seating area.

Day 2 – 4 Cape Town

We can either arrange vehicle hire – sightseeing done on a self-drive basis or alternatively if you prefer, we can arrange Guided sightseeing tours – allowing you to sit back, relax and absorb all that Cape Town has to offer.

Below are suggestions of day tours and activities in Cape Town: many of them can be done on a privately guided basis, or as scheduled bus tours, or on your own, using a rental car:

  • Cape Town City Tour and Table Mountain. Visit the top of Table Mountain by cableway, for the most spectacular views in Africa.
  • Full day Cape Peninsula Tour where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. This is a scenic drive along the Cape Peninsula with opportunities to see seals at Hout Bay, penguins at Boulders Beach, baboons at Cape Point, and of course the spectacular coastline and scenery of the peninsula
  • Cape Winelands Full Day tour to explore one of the most beautiful and famous winelands districts in the world and discover top-class wines, locally produced cheeses. Have wine tasting at different wine estates

Day 5 Cape Town to Greater Kruger Park

After your breakfast this morning at the hotel, you will be transferred to Cape Town International airport for your flight to Hoedspruit. Excitement mounts as you board the flight to Eastgate airport. On arrival you will be welcome by the lodge’s team and transferred to Thornhill Safari Lodge where you will be spending the next 3 nights in Standard Chalet with all meals.

Thornhill Safari Lodge is located within the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem in South Africa

This area is a premier eco-tourist destination, with ever present views of the Drakensberg Escarpment. Thornhill Safari Lodge offers guided nature walks throughout the Guernsey Nature Reserve. Big 5 game drives are offered daily into Kruger National Park and Thornybush Private Game Reserve at an additional charge.

You will be welcomed to Thornhill by our friendly staff and you will feel at home with our relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink while completing check in procedures.

Once you settle into camp and enjoy a scrumptious, traditional African lunch in the heart of the bushveld, you are all set for your adventure.

Take in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness before we head out for a late afternoon and early evening game drive. We track elusive creatures of the night while being guided by state-of-the-art spotlights.

You are in the midst of one of the most diverse eco systems in the world, with animal and bird species that have captured the fascination of travellers for hundreds of years. This is the time to take advantage of all the great photographic opportunities and capture the beauty of Africa on film forever. On return from your drive we enjoy a traditional African Boma dinner around the campfire, while being serenaded by sounds of the African night. (Weather permitting)

Day 6 Full Day Kruger Park Safari

Enjoy an early rise as our friendly safari guides meet you for the start of your next safari adventure through the renowned Kruger National Park. The Park actually has an exceedingly interesting history which dates back to 1898. Its purpose has always been to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, providing nearly 2 million hectares of unspoiled and diverse life forms. Considered the flagship of the South African National Parks system, the Kruger is home to an impressive number of species including 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 517 birds and 147 mammals.

Your safari kicks off the moment we enter the Kruger, as you explore the best game drives that the Park has to offer. Throughout the day, we explore various viewpoints and waterholes until we reach a remote site for a tasty picnic brunch. Then we continue with game drive and once an exciting day draws to a close, we return to the modern comforts of Thornhill Safari Lodge, we enjoy yet another taste of exquisitely prepared and traditional African cuisine. You then retire for the night, surrounded by the beautiful serenade of the African bush

Day 7 At Leisure

This is your leisure day, where you can soak in the African sun, relax at the lodge and sip on cocktails around our inviting swimming pool. Or you can partake in any of our numerous and exciting activities on offer. Take a Big Five game drive or visit a local animal rehabilitation centre; a tour

of the Panorama route including the Blyde River Canyon or just spend the day taking in the sights and sounds around you at the lodge.

After a day spent relaxing in the distinct African ambience of the lodge, you can look forward to enjoying delicious African dishes prepared by our gifted chefs.

Breakfast, Lunch (depending on what optional activities are done) and Dinner.

Day 8 & 9 Thornhill Safari Lodge to Nambu Camp

Rising early, we head off on a game walk where you can explore the reserve on foot. Our rangers know how to entertain guests with fascinating facts as they lead you in tracking game in the wild.

After a tasty breakfast followed by check out procedures, it is time for your transfer to Nambu Camp

Where you will be spending the last leg of your journey.

Elevated above the landscape and built on an old anthill lies Nambu Camp, a 6-bedroom safari lodge located in the heart of the Balule Game Reserve. Nambu’s spacious viewing deck overlooks a riverbed and waterhole where many of the bushveld’s inhabitants come to visit, from herds of elephant, towering giraffes, to the nocturnal and elusive predators.  Drainage lines and natural springs make for incredible game viewing amongst the landscape scenery.

At Nambu you will be able to swop a morning game drive for a walk in the bush with an experienced guide to explore the vast and diverse landscape.

The rooms have comfortable king size beds with modern and stylish bathrooms which has views of the surrounding bushveld.  Winding wooden pathways lead the way to the main camp.

At Nambu Camp enjoy thrilling morning, afternoon and evening game drives in the Balule Game Reserve in open safari vehicles with experienced rangers. Enjoy an optional game walk with rangers to experience the bush from the ground. Take a stroll to the lodge’s waterhole to get closer to the animals that gather around for a drink – a great photographic opportunity right on your doorstep.

Evenings will be spent around the campfire, enjoying fine South African wine and listening to the sounds of the African Bush.

Day 10 Departure

Enjoy your last early morning Game drive hopefully spotting the elusive leopard if not yet seen.

After a hearty breakfast, you will drive to Eastgate Airport to connect with your flight to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport.

Day 1 Arrive Cape Town

On arrival in Cape Town you will be met by our Representative and transferred to the Waterfront Village situated in the heart of Cape Town Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where you will be spending the next 4 nights on Accommodation Only in a Luxury apartment.

The rest of your day is at leisure to unwind and get ready for your first adventure the following day.

Day 2 – 4 Cape Town

The next 3 days are at leisure to explore Cape Town at your own pace.

Known as the “Mother City”, Cape Town is the oldest city in South Africa. Perched between the ocean and the mountain, with a national park as its heart, there is nowhere like Cape Town, a city with a cultural heritage spanning more than 300 years.

It is in Cape Town that the Rainbow Nation really covers the spectrum. Between beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads, traditional dancers with painted faces performing in the streets, the smell of spicy Malay cooking and the taste of a well-made wine, this city will fill your senses.

We can either arrange vehicle hire – sightseeing done on a self-drive basis or alternatively if you prefer, we can arrange Guided sightseeing tours – allowing you to sit back, relax and absorb all that Cape Town has to offer. Or if you have the blood for adventure, get on the City Red bus and get off and onboard as you please.

Day 5 Cape Town to Greater Kruger Park

This morning you will be transferred to Cape Town International airport for your flight to Hoedspruit. Excitement mounts as you board the flight to Eastgate airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Klaserie River Safari Lodge where you will be spending the next 3 nights in River Chalet.

Klaserie River Safari Lodge combines the rustic beauty of the African bushveld and the calm serenity of the riverine forest. Located in the Thornybush area near Hoedspruit and is built on the banks of the Klaserie River, it is home to a variety of wildlife, Klaserie River Safari Lodge offers a relaxing bush break-away experience. The lodge comprises of 11 stylish and comfortable chalets. All units feature air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, bar fridges, Wi-Fi Internet access, tea and coffee facilities and river views.

Enjoy wilderness walks and open vehicle game drives to view the big five, visit wildlife conservation projects, or take a boat trip on the Blyde River to explore the beauty of one of the most important wilderness biospheres in the world.

Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink on arrival at the lodge while completing check in procedures. Once you settle into camp and enjoy a scrumptious, traditional African lunch in the heart of the bushveld, you are all set for your adventure.

Embark on a sunset game drive or a guided bush walk on Klaserie River Safari Lodge’s

private property. Later return back to the lodge and enjoy dinner served alternatively under the stars at a boma (weather permitting) or in the dining room.

Day 6 Full Day Kruger Park Game Drive

Enjoy an early rise to get ready for your full day 4 x 4 game drive in the renowned Kruger National Park. This Full day trip includes a packed breakfast, which guests will enjoy at a rest area in the national park.

Guests will depart Klaserie River Safari Lodge in the transfer vehicle before breakfast and head to the Kruger’s Orpen Gate, which is a short 30-minute drive away.  Enjoy the phenomenal game viewing in South Africa’s most famous wildlife reserve. The Park actually has an exceedingly interesting history which dates back to 1898. Its purpose has always been to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, providing nearly 2 million hectares of unspoiled and diverse life forms. Considered the flagship of the South African National Parks system, the Kruger is home to an impressive number of species including 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 517 birds and 147 mammals.

Throughout the day, we explore various viewpoints and waterholes.

Lunch and refreshments (at own account) will be at one of the Rest camp restaurants in the park. Afterwards indulge in some curio shopping.

Then we continue with game drive and once an exciting day draws to a close, we return to the lodge. There is time to freshen up and get ready for dinner. This is the time to discuss the day highlights and swap stories with fellow guest.

Day 7 Afternoon 4 X 4 Game Drive at a Big 5 Private property

Have a late rise if you wish to as this morning is at leisure for you to soak in the African sun, relax at the lodge and enjoy its amenities or partake in any of the numerous and exciting activities on offer such as to pay a visit to a local animal rehabilitation centre or to Jessica the Hippo; an interaction & walk with the Elephant at The Elephant Whispers in Hazyview …

Later enjoy an afternoon game drive in a Big 5 private safari property with some exclusive game viewing opportunities on its grounds. Klaserie River Safari Lodge arranges afternoon game drives allowing the guests to enjoy a 3-4-hour safari experience, including refreshment stops and some incredible up-close game encounters.

Back again at the lodge after an exhilarating afternoon of unforgettable bush life. Get ready for dinner served either at the Boma around a roaring fire or in the dining area and which is a showcase of pan-African dishes prepared from fresh local ingredients.

Day 8 & 9 Klaserie River Safari Lodge to Tangala safari camp

Rising early, we head off on a game walk where you can explore the reserve on foot. Our rangers know how to entertain guests with fascinating facts as they lead you in tracking game in the wild. This is also an opportunity to enjoy the smaller details of the bush,

and to learn about tracks and signs of Africa!

After a hearty breakfast followed by check out procedures, it is time for your transfer to Tangala safari camp where you will be spending the last leg of your journey in a Chalet or a safari tent. On arrival enjoy a refreshing drink while completing the check in procedures. Once you are settled into your room later have lunch.

An intimate and personal experience awaits you at Tangala Safari Camp which is located in the heart of the world renowned Thornybush big 5 Game Reserve bordering the Greater Kruger. The camp boasts sweeping views overlooking an expansive and active waterhole, with the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range forming an impressive backdrop. With our eco-friendly camp, great hosting, comfortable accommodation and thrilling game drives, guests are assured an unforgettable experience

Guests visiting Tangala safari camp will enjoy early morning and afternoon 4 x 4 game drives. Rangers are allowed to go off road whenever necessary to get closer to predator sightings, hence creating good photography opportunities.

During the game drive your experienced game ranger and expert local tracker will share their extensive knowledge and love for the African bush with you. Animals and birds in the reserve have become used to having the game drive vehicles in close proximity due to a carefully planned and managed habituation process. This allows us to get really close to them and forms part of the appeal of the Luxury Lodge Safari!

Day 10 Departure

Today will be another early start for a final morning game drive. One last opportunity to experience the magic that only the African Bush can offer!

After the game drive return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and afterwards complete the check-out procedures before being transferred to Eastgate airstrip for your flight back to Johannesburg to fly home or continue on your travels elsewhere

Day 1 Arrive Cape Town

Day 2 – 4 Cape Town

Explore the “” Mother City” during your 4-night stay at the Cape Milner in Standard room with ensuite bathroom. There is so much to do and see in Cape Town. Explore the rainbow nation in its full spectrum : beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads – traditional dancers with painted faces performing in the streets- the smell of spicy Malay cooking – a taste of a well-made wine; best national attractions in South Africa: Table Mountain, either by cable car or manually climbing up routes of varying degrees of difficulty –  the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, internationally acclaimed as one of the great botanical gardens of the world – a boat ride to Robben Island to learn about the struggle for freedom during the dark apartheid days  ; shop till you drop at Cavendish, Canal Walk or the Waterfront.

Day 5 – 7 Cape Town to Greater Kruger Park

After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred this morning to Cape Town International airport for your flight to Hoedspruit. Excitement mounts as you board the flight to Eastgate airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Gomo Gomo Game Lodge where you will be spending the next 3 nights in a Chalet room with all meals, daily game drives and bush walks.

Gomo Gomo Game Lodge is a private and intimate lodge situated in the prestigious

Klaserie Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, with a common unfenced border.

Its traversing area is approximately 6000 hectares (14800 acres) of the reserve offering guests varied landscapes with an excellent possibility of coming face to face with the “Big 5” (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino) and numerous other mammals and bird species in their natural habitat

Guests are accommodated in fully furnished, brick and thatch chalets all with en-suite facilities and power points.

Guests visiting Gomo Gomo Game Lodge will be treated to Early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives are conducted in open 4 X 4 Land Rovers with well qualified and experienced field guides and trackers who will ensure an exciting and informative safari. An optional bushwalk with your field guide will open up the world of some of South Africa’s intricate ecosystems with its varied fauna and flora. Guests are accommodated in fully furnished, brick and thatch chalets all with en-suite facilities, and air conditioning.

Breakfast and lunch are served in the dining room overlooking the waterhole in front of the lodge, while dinner is served traditional African style around a log fire in our boma. During the day guests can relax on the deck in the shade of a century old Boer bean tree or cool down in the pool. At night the camp is lit by kerosene flares, which contribute to the true bush safari ambiance and experience.

Day 8 & 9 Gomo Gomo Game Lodge to Simbavati River Lodge

The day begins early with tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the morning Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. The cooler morning temperatures mean that the game in the reserve is often more active, and the softer light makes for great images.

Back at the lodge seat for a leisurely breakfast. Afterwards complete the check-out procedures before being transferred to Simbavati River lodge where you will be spending the last leg of your journey in a Luxury safari tent. On arrival enjoy a refreshing drink while completing the check in procedures. Once you are settled into your room later have lunch.

Simbavati River Lodge is a contemporary, warm, welcoming lodge built on the banks of the Nhlaralumi River in the heart of the world famous Timbavati Private Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger Park in South Africa.

Simbavati takes its name from the local Shangaan language, translated as “the place where the lions come down from the stars”, no wonder the focus of the lodge is on the excellent Big 5 game viewing.

Great leopard & white lion sightings as well as those of endangered species including wild dogs and cheetah are part of the daily game drives for guests visiting Simbavati River Lodge. Bird viewing is spectacular with over 360 recorded species including various eagles, vultures, kingfishers, woodpeckers, buzzards, herons, egrets, owls, weavers.

Accommodation consists of eight luxury safari tents and three spacious family chalets. All are privately situated and comfortably furnished with eco-friendly air-conditioning and en-suite facilities

Simbavati River Lodge offers game drives in the early morning and afternoon to ensure game viewing when the animals are most active. Your experienced ranger and Shangaan tracker will share their extensive knowledge and love for the African bush with you. Animals and birds in the reserve have become used to having the game drive vehicles in close proximity due to a carefully planned and managed habituation process. Game drives inside Private Reserves are usually amazing because the area is not overcrowded but also because rangers can go off road whenever necessary to get closer to predator sightings, hence creating good photography opportunities.

While on Game Drive, you will stop for Sundowners at a magnificent location and toast the splendour of Africa as you watch the sun set. As darkness falls, nocturnal animals of the bush get excited as they celebrate “” their dawn “and come out. Your skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge.

Dinner is a festive event, alternatively served around the campfire in the open air boma or in the thatched restaurant, it combines African and Western cuisine. This is the time to discuss the highlights of the day as well plans for the next morning game drive.

Day 10 Departure
