Early in the morning you will be picked from your hotel in Arusha town drives heading westwards to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is a Tanzanian national park located both in Arusha Region and Manyara Region, Tanzania. The two administrative regions have no jurisdiction over the parks. The park is governed by the Tanzania National Parks Authority. Most of the land area of the park is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the west and Lake Manyara, an alkaline or soda-lake, to the east.

One of the smaller but the most sought-after destination in the northern-circuit of Tanzania is the Lake Manyara Park. The park displays 11 numbers of eco-systems which shows the diverse vegetation, ranging from savannah to marsh to evergreen forest and this supports to one of the highest biomass densities of large mammals in the world. Famous for the tree-climbing lions and the scenic view of the park as well as the flamingos that inhabit the lake. During the wet season they inhabit the edges of the lake in flocks of thousands, but they are not so present during the dry season.

This park is a must stop for those want to combine the nature and the game viewing on their tour to Africa. The topographical features ranging from the Rift Wall, ground water forest, acacia woodlands and open grasslands to the shores of Lake Manyara are some of the features that make this park a paradise for the nature lovers.
